Courtney Carreras

Courtney Carreras began her publishing career in 1995 as the writer and co-owner of the trailblazing monthly and world’s first Hip Hop Trade Publication, The Four One One. During this time she also held the post of features editor and writer for The Source Sports, a division of The Source magazine. The former Editor-in-Chief of YRB, Courtney is the co-author of Coming Up From the Down Low with J.L. King (Crown), She also penned Careful What You Wish For: The Hollywood Diaries (Simon & Schuster Spotlight). Courtney recently executive produced, wrote, and directed a television documentary feature on Coming Up From the Down Low (Crown), called The Down Low Exposed, which premiered on BET. She just completed production on her documentary, Brooklyn Girls Fight Club, which has been optioned to Paramount Pictures.
