Kathy Passero

Kathy Passero is an award-winning writer and reporter whose articles have appeared in numerous national magazines, including Biography, Reader’s Digest, Condé Nast Traveler, Departures, InStyle, Life & Style,and TV Guide.  She is the author of five non-fiction books on a variety of subjects, from entertainment to wedding planning to home decorating. Her title Laguna Beach: The Early Years (Simon and Schuster/MTV Books) spent four weeks on The New York Times bestseller list. Kathy spent three years as the managing editor of The New York Times Company’s Custom Publishing Division and two years as the editorial manager of Nike’s Sportspage advertorials, which appeared in college newspapers across the United States. She has worked on the staffs of Great American Home Cooking and Executive Female and was instrumental in the launch of Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel magazine. Passero also spent six years (1998-2004) as a senior editor with Biography magazine, during which time she profiled a variety of well-known personalities, from celebrities and sports stars to scientists and politicians. Kathy’s latest book, Blood Secrets, is an enticing collaboration with blood-spatter guru Rod Englert that will introduce the reader to what the experts zero in on—and sometimes miss—at a crime scene.
