Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson sang gospel music in her Baptist Minister father's church. At just five years old, she gained valuable experience singing in front of an audience. When she was twelve, she auditioned for The New Mickey Mouse Club along with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera but didn't get a part on the show. Soon after, she signed a contract with a gospel music label that went out of business before her album was complete. When it all seemed hopeless, Tommy Mottola of Columbia Records finally signed her to a four-year record deal, and her 1999 record, "Sweet Kisses", went platinum. She authored the book I Do (IW Press), which details her wedding to Nick Lachey from the band 98 Degrees.
