Julie K. Brown

Julie K. Brown is the crime/investigations reporter for The Miami Herald. During her 20-year career, she has written and won journalism awards for stories about government corruption, cold case police probes, and tragedies such as the downing of John F. Kennedy Jr.’s plane and Hurricane Wilma. A Philadelphia native, she was a staff writer for The Philadelphia Daily News before moving to Miami seven years ago. Her work has been submitted for the Pulitizer Prize, and she has won National Headliners Awards, National Education Association awards and awards from the Pennsylvania and Florida Society of Professional Journalists. She is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia.
